        (Successfully completed 99 hooks from 3500# Antique to 26,000 4WD Tractors plus 11,000# Pro Farm Super Stock Tractors.)

        (Successfully completed 140 hooks from 3200# stock tractors to 17,000# team pulls on a sunny, breezy day.  Larry Bauer was the lead eliminator operator while I attended my son's wedding and reception.)

        (Successfully completed 218 hooks from 3000# Pure Stock Tractors to 14,500 Farm Tractors during a constant light rain.)

8.     Sat.   June 20, 2009    11:00    Mackville Super Nationals (Unpaced Tractors Only) (Clay)

9.     Sun.  June 21, 2009   Noon    Mackville Super Nationals (St. Edwards Parish) (Paced Tractors Only) (Clay)

        Sunday Classes:  Tractors: 2600, 3100, 3600, 4500, 5500, 7000, 8500, 10500, 12500, 15000 (All Paced).  Trucks: 6500 Street Stock, 8500 Street Mod & Diesels)

        (Successfully completed 89 hooks on our eliminator.  Our classes were from 5500 Paced to 15,000 Paced plus Street Stock and Street Modified & Diesel Trucks)

10.   Sat.   June 27, 2009   11:00    Pound (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 78 tractor hooks and 79 truck hooks.  The 80th truck stopped and started with a jerk during a high speed run and the eliminator broke an axle shaft in a rear end.  We had three trucks that had not pulled in the final class.  We worked on the eliminator all week and now have it ready to go with stronger parts for the next pull.)

11.   Sat.  July 4, 2009          2:00      Pickett (Clay)

         (Successfully completed 40 hooks on our eliminator.   We hooked 7500 Special, 8500 Special, 9500 Special, 12500 Special, and 6200 Street Altered Trucks.  The other eliminator hooked the PI Tractor and Truck classes.)

         Union Thresheree Pull Rules 2009

        (Successfully completed 161 hooks on our eliminator (including the five steam engines we hooked on Friday night for a "spark show").  The Symco sled had about 66 hooks before it broke down.  We hooked classes from 4000# Modified Antique tractors to Unlimited Antiques.  Total hooks for the weekend was 227.)

        (Successfully completed 85 hooks in a 3.5 hour show on the new clay track in front of the grandstand.)

        (Successfully completed 106 hooks.  The Stock Truck class had 51 trucks which was the largest single class ever on our eliminator.)

25.  Sat.  Aug. 15, 2009     11:00      Waupaca - Nickel Farms (Burg Pullers) (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 227 from 3000# Stock Antique Tractors to 40,000# Eight Wheel Drive tractors.  About a dozen trucks pulled after the Team Tractor Classes.  Nickel Farms' newly built track was one of the best we pulled on.)

26.  Sun.  Aug. 16, 2009    Noon      Montello (Blacktop)

        (Successfully completed 99 hooks on the newly blacktopped road next to the Park.  It rained all the way to the pull and it rained on the way home from the pull.  It rained all around us during the pull, but our little spot under the sky was dry.)

27.  Sat.   Aug. 22, 2009     1:00       DePere (Brown Co. Fair) (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 102 hooks in four hours.  The other eliminator completed about 50 hooks for a total of about 152 hooks.)

28.  Thu.  Aug. 27, 2009   7:00pm   Wausaukee (Marinette Co. Fair) (Clay)

         (Successfully completed 89 hooks - a record.  This is the first year it didn't rain.)

29.  Sat.  Aug. 29, 2009   Noon        Borth (HSS Track - Hyler Septic Service) (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 84 hooks, 44 tractors and 40 trucks.  Light rain started to fall near the end of the tractors and never really let up, yet all tractor and truck classes were completed.)

30.  Sun. Aug. 30, 2009   Noon       Juneau (Blacktop)

        Juneaugust Fest Rules 2009

        (Successfully completed 37 hooks on a beautiful Fall day (we never really got much hot weather this Summer).  It took us longer to set up and tear down than it did to run the pull.  Everyone had a good time and the pull was just long enough so everyone stayed until the end.) 

        (I never received any rules, but Perry Urben's newsletter has these classes from last year: Paced 3000, 3500, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000 Stock RPM's all classes; Unpaced 4500, 6500; Farm 6 MPH 6000, 8000)

31.  Sat.  Sept. 5, 2009     11:00       Waupun (Clay) (Stock and Paced Tractors)

        (Successfully completed 76 hooks on our eliminator.  The V & H eliminator had about 40 tractors and then switched to garden tractors.  We hooked 4500# Antiques to 7500# Near Stock Classes)

32.  Sat.  Sept. 5, 2009    7:00pm     Waupun (Clay) (Unpaced Tractors and Trucks)

        (Successfully completed 77 hooks from 7000# 5 MPH to 14,500# Classes including 7500#, 9500#, 12000# Special Classes and Hot Farm Classes.  The V & H eliminator hooked garden tractors.)

33.  Fri.  Sept. 11, 2009   6:00pm     Pickett (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 53 hooks on our eliminator.  The other eliminator had a few less.  We hooked all the Paced Classes from 6500# to 12500# plus the 7500# Open and 7500# Special Classes.)

34.  Sat. Sept. 12, 2009      Noon     Ripon (Lions) (Blacktop)

        (Successfully completed 73 hooks for this first time pull.  We started at 3250# and finished with 13000# Team Class.)

35.  Sun.  Sept. 13, 2009   11:00     Campbellsport FFA (Northwinds Track in Eden) (Clay)

        (Successfully completed 118 hooks with 92 tractors and 26 trucks.)

36.  Sat.   Sept. 19, 2009   11:00      West Bloomfield (Fire Dept.) (Blacktop)

        (Successfully completed 116 hooks after the morning rain ended.)

38.  Sat.  Oct. 3, 2009        11:00      Rosholt (Main Street) (Blacktop)

        (Successfully completed 211 hooks.  It rained on the way to the pull and during the last half of the pull.)

39.  Sat.  Oct. 10, 2009      9:00 AM      Pickett (Clay) (Qualification for CWATP State Championship Pull)

        (Successfully completed 81 hooks.  The V&H eliminator had an additional 55 hooks for a total of 136 hooks in the Qualifying Round.  It snowed during the pull.)

40.  Sat. Oct. 10, 2009       4:00 PM      Pickett (Clay) (CWATP State Championship Pull - End of Season Pull)

        (Per Perry Urben's Newsletter:  Qualifying Round starts at 9 AM.  Championship Round starts around 4 or 5 PM.  '55 or older Pure Stock 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000;  '59 or older 4 mph 3500, 4500, 5500, 6500, 7500;  '59 or older No Pace 4700, 5700, 6700)

        (Successfully completed 51 hooks.  The V&H eliminator had an additional 34 hooks for a total of 85 hooks for the Championship Round.  The day ended with a total of 221 hooks.  The pulling season is done.)

 

        The Pulling Season is over -- October 10, 2009.  Successfully completed 4,391 paid hooks on our eliminator during competition in 2009.  This exceeds last year's record number of hooks.  Successfully completed 37 pulls of the 40 pulls scheduled.  Three pulls (Borth, Pickett, and Oshkosh) were rained out.  Since 2005, our eliminator has had a total of 20,265 competition hooks.  For a detailed record and comparison to previous years, click on History of Pulls.
