Our Friend, Jeff Zabel:
It is with tears in my eyes that I write this. This is the hardest thing I have ever written on this website. Jeff Zabel, one of four co-founders of Tractor Tracks, LLC, died suddenly and unexpectantly in an automobile accident on February 12, 2009.
Jeff was our main mechanic, designated spokesperson, official telephone conversationalist, expert rules interpreter, pullers mediator, schedule coordinator, sled operator, and the best partner a person could ever have. Jeff's top priority in life, outside of his family, was antique tractor pulling. Jeff knew almost everyone involved in pulling in our part of the state.
Jeff Zabel will be severely missed by all who knew him, especially me.
After his standing-room-only funeral in the church he grew up in, which is located just a mile from his house and business, Jeff was laid to rest in the Town of Lind Cemetery.
The show must go on. Jeff would have wanted this. All scheduled pulls for 2009 and future years will still be conducted.
